Dennis was born and raised in Texas. From an early age he understood the human body did not always work properly as both of his parents were in wheelchairs and at the age of seven he decided he would "help people" when he grew up.

In high school Dennis became interested in Sign Language and pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Habilitation of the deaf from Texas Christian University in 1996. In 1998 Dennis was awarded a Master of Liberal Arts degree from Texas Christian University. In 1999 Dennis moved to Portland, Oregon to work on his Master of Science in Audiology degree, awarded by Portland State University in 2001. In 2007 Dennis received his Doctor of Audiology degree from AT Still University of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona.

After graduation in 2001 through January 2006, Dennis worked for two Neurotologists in Portland. During his time in Portland he performed hearing evaluations, worked with patients with balance function disorders, helped patients with hearing conservation, worked with hearing aids, and was the lead audiologist for pediatric evaluations working with newborns though adulthood. Dennis also works with the cochlear implant population at Salem Audiology Clinic.

Dennis is married and has two daughters. During his free time Dennis enjoys spending time with his family, flying his airplane, doing professional acting, watching football, and snow skiing. Dennis' philosophy on hearing is: It's never too early to begin hearing conservation. Any time you feel there has been a change in your hearing have it tested as soon as possible.
